Topic:  The Correcting Tax Forms:  W2c, W3c, and 941x

Why do we need to use the forms W2c, W3c, or 941x?    This discussion will review the forms in detail and explain how to file the completed forms.   

Why is it important to check the tax returns for accuracy -- even if you have a third party prepare and file the tax returns? 

What do you do with those notices from the IRS or other tax jurisdiction?   How to respond when a notice is received.

Linda Springer, CPP has been involved with payroll for more than 20 years in one aspect or another;  from calculating hand-written time cards and manually writing the payroll checks to payroll tax compliance.   In 1998, while working as an Office Manager for an outplacement consulting firm and attending the University of Phoenix where she was studying for her Masters degree in Computer Information Systems, she accepted her first official payroll position with CBS Payroll.   While with CBS Payroll, Linda held several different positions from new client setup, software install, software support and training, to supervising the setup, software support, and distribution departments.   When CBS Payroll was acquired by Intuit, Inc in 2004 the branch office in Denver was closed, Linda accepted an adjunct teaching position with College America until accepting her current Sr. Payroll Tax Specialist position with Western Union in 2005.    Currently, Linda is responsible for the tax compliance, filing, and tax deposits for numerous Federal, State, and Local tax jursidictions, plus Canada and Puerto Rico.   Linda holds a BS degree in Accounting and a MS degree in Computer Information Systems.  She received her CPP designation in 2003 and has been a member of the Denver Chapter Payroll Association and the American Payroll Association since 2005.
